Dhanvantari Institute of Panchakarma and Massage was started to impart the knowledge of ayurveda to the common man. In recent times there has been an increasing demand for such type of knowledge both for personal use as well as for professional use. Though India has a number of colleges imparting this knowledge to graduate and undergraduate students there was no solution available to the common man. The demand for such a type of knowledge was such that groups of foreign students would visit India and stay over here for obtaining this knowledge. This included people from all walks of life and especially those for whom there was a direct benefit in the form of being able to suggest ayurvedic remedies to their clients like beauticians, western massagists, naturopaths, physiotherapists etc. Sensing the need for an institute which could offer certificate courses for the same, Vd. Ashok Paranjape established the Institute to impart training to foreign as well as local people.
